First – the yarn and new bags!
We have re-stocked our Sandnes Garn in both Smart and Peer Gynt. If you’re looking for a DK weight yarn that is great for sweaters, kids to adults, this might be it. The yarn comes from Norway and is great at showing off cables and texture. We carry all of the colors in Smart (the superwash version) and Peer Gynt (the non-superwash version).
Stonehedge Fiber Shepherd’s Wool
We received a Shepherd’s Wool re-stock order from Stonehedge Fiber Mill this week, too. Note – some of their colors are not available due to less staff during this time, but they are working on it. We hope to have another order of Crazy here soon, too. Shepherd’s Wool is a soft, worsted, non-superwash merino, processed on their 166 year old working farm in Michigan.
The Empty Spool
Many of you remember Loopy Elf Cheryl, who worked back in the fabric department. She has started a new sewing business called The Empty Spool (love the name), and is making Pop Top Project Bags and Bento Yarn Bags for us! We have our first order of project bags and I think you’ll love the style. I have been using one for months and love the drawstring top and cute handles.
Our last Yarn Update included:
Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stopper and Dream in Color Smoothy with Cashmere. We used these to make up a lot of Hug Shot Kits for you all! The good news is that Casapinka has extended her Hug Shot offer through this coming weekend. Her offer – buy two 400 yd. fingering weight skeins from a participating yarn shop and get the Hug Shot pattern code for a free download.
Loopy Pet Legends
We were on track to get these in late April, until Covid hit and took Dream in Color down to just Veronica dealing with dyeing all of their orders. She has over half of our Pet Legends done and continues to work on this batch of 25 colors for us. We are so anxious to get them and I can’t wait for you to see how they all came together! We are crossing out fingers that we will get them within the next few weeks. Thank you for your emails asking about them. We’re glad you’re as excited as we are about them!
On a more personal note
The past two weeks have been sobering and thought provoking with all that is going on in our world. We are listening and learning and making changes. We want to move beyond just talking about it, and be a part of tangible solutions in ways that we can help. We will keep you posted.
